Villarreal, Contract Specialist, 210-536-6224 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format subpart FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and this includes all provisions and clauses in effect thru FAC 90-45. This is a sole source requirement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source: Becton Dickson, 2350 Qume Drive, San Jose, CA. This RFQ has the following line items: 0001, FL4 Upgrade for Facscaliber and 0002, Facsloader for Facscaliber. The loader must be compatible with current Becton Dickson flow cytometry equipment. The loader must be able to automatically present multiple samples to the flow cyometer for processing. The unit must be configured to fit within the current hardware so as not to take up more than two square feet of additional laboratory space.
