The Naval Surface Warfare Systems Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to award a sole source contract to Isis Distributed Systems division of Stratus Computer, Inc. for non-commercial support of the Isis Software Development Toolkit. Isis is used by NSWCDD for messaging in a heterogeneous distributed computing environment providing causal ordering, group programming, and fault tolerance capabilities. This procurement will involve the porting of Isis to non-commercially supported platforms, adding new features such as message priority and instrumentation data probes to assess messaging performance, and modifying commercial features as needed to provide the desired features to be tested. Only Isis Distributed Systems, the manufacturer of the software, can provide the required support. The procurement will include a one year base period and four one year options. Note 22 applies.
