PART II OF RFQ 564-1-97 DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/WORK STATEMENT GENERAL: All containers shall be located upon the grounds of the VA Medical Center, 1100 North College, Fayetteville, Arkansas. The thirty (30) cubic yard trash container will be for the purpose of retaining large items of debris. The container will be located by the Foreman, Miscellaneous Services Unit, Engineering Service. The Contractor will provide for pickup of trash when requested by the Foreman, Miscellaneous Services Unit. Pickup will be made as soon as possible following the request; however, under no circumstances will pickup be accomplished later than 4:00 p.m. of the next workday following the request. The container will have a lid or top to prevent or at least impair intrusion by animals. An additional 34 cubic yard container, attached to a compactor, for retaining treated medical waste shall be located East of Building 40, Trash Sterilizer Building. When the indicator alerts the operator it is near full, the operatorwill notify the Engineering Office and they will call the contractor for disposal. This container should be emptied no later than 1 (one) working day after we call. Further, the container needs to be returned to this station immediately after emptying. All work shall be performed in a manner prescribed by all local, State and Federal regulations, guides and laws, and in strict accordance with the terms and conditions of this contract. HOURS OF PICKUP: All pickups will be made between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding national holidays. CLEANLINESS: The container will be maintained by the Contractor in a state of cleanliness, disinfected, with no obtrusive, obnoxious or otherwise unpleasant odors. BILLING: Payments will be made in arrears for services perform and must be supported by an itemized breakdown to Chief, Fiscal Service (04), VA Medical Center, Fayetteville, AR. (0148)
