SOL DACA87-97-R-0029 DUE 070897 POC Contract Specialist Darralyn Williams (205) 895-1157 Contracting Officer Houston Townsend (205) 895-1112 (Site Code DACA87) The U.S. Army Engineering Support Center; Huntsville, Alabama proposes to enter into a Firm Fixed Price IDIQ contract for Engineering and Technical assistance support services as a result of this solicitation. Award of this contract will ensure sustainment of the U.S. Army's role in the destruction of the United States' stockpile of chemical weapons located at the U.S. Army Chemical Agent Munitions Disposal System Activity (USACAMDS); Deseret Chemical Depot; Tooele, Utah. The general scope of work involves reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations to engineering design, drawings, and processes at the USACAMDS' facility to assure compliance with the Chemical Weapon Convention (CWC) Treaty Verification Program. The CWC Treaty Verification Program is one aspect of a Congressional mandate to destroy our nation's chemical weapons in support of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling, and Use of Chemical Weapons. It is the Government's intent to award one contract with a base and four one year option periods. Exercise of the option periods will be at the sole discretion of the Government. Issue date on/about June 13, 1997. Closing Date on/about July 8, 1997. This is not a Request for Proposals; however, once issued all responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. See Numbered Note 1. (0148)
