The Flathead National Forest will be advertising an Invitation for Bids for Construction/Reconstruction of Strawberry Creek Trail #161 and Gateway Gorge Trail #322, Spotted Bear Ranger District, Flathead County, Montana. Work consists of 6.3 miles of trail work including clearing and grubbing, excavation, tread work, drainage dips, waterbars, ditches, culverts, tread stabilization, turnpikes, puncheons, shallow stream fords, switchbacks, and rock retaining walls. Rock blasting may be required. This project is located within the Bob Marshall Wilderness area; therefore, motorized equipment shall not be used. Issue date, June 18, 1997. The Notice to Proceed will be issued approximately August 11, 1997, with an estimated completion date of October 1, 1997, on one segment and September 4, 1998, on remainder of project.
