The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) at Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for two (2) Miniceptor Receivers, Watkins Johnson Company P/N WJ-8609A, two (2) Frequency Extenders, Watkins Johnson Company P/N WJ-860X/FE and two (2) IF BW Filter Sets, Watkins Johnson Company P/N WJ-8609A/BWS1. The Government intends to place this order on a sole source basis with Watkins Johnson Company, 700 Quince Orchard Rd., Gaithersburg, MD 20878. This particular receiver was previously installed in a custom-built hardware system. The software used to control the hardware system including the receivers was coded around the receiver control command set. It is mandatory for the follow-on version to be compatible with the first version for software compatibility. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; REQUESTS FOR QUOTES ARE SOLICITED WITH THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This procurement is being processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Part 13 of the FAR. This is a request for quotation (RFQ) number N00421-97-Q-1122. Procurement will be made via a DPAS "DO" rated Government purchase order, which will incorporate provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-11. This acquisition is unrestricted and is not set aside for small business. The applicable SIC code is 3633, size standard of 750 employees. Quotations offered in response to this RFQ shall be in the following format: CLIN 0001 -- two (2) Miniceptor Receivers, P/N WJ-8609A; CLIN 0002 -- two (2) Frequency Extenders, P/N WJ-860X/FE; CLIN 0003 -- two (2) IF BW Filter Set 1 (2,5,10,20,40 MHZ), P/N WJ-8609A/BWS1. Award shall be made to the responsible quoter submitting the technically acceptable, lowest price quote, with the ability to meet the required delivery schedule. Price will be the deciding factor among technically acceptable quotes.
