APO AE 09839-4902. The United States Agency for International
Development Mission to Egypt requests proposals from U.S. firms for
computer hardware and associated equipment, to be delivered on a C.I.F.
basis Cairo, Egypt for the Cost Recovery for Health, USAID Project No.
263-0170. The required computer hardware equipment consists of:
Fifteen (15) Network Servers, One hundred and forty six (146)
Workstations, Fifty two (52) Modems, One hundred and forty seven (147)
Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Seventy eight (78) Laser Printers,
Twelve (12) Network HUBs, One CD Recorder, Recordable CD diskettes, Six
(6) Scanners, One hundred and sixty two (162) Norton Anti-Virus
Software Licenses, spare parts and accessories, and Ten thousand and
five hundred (10,500) meters of Network Cabling. Offerors must ensure
that manufacturers of hardware offered have representation for warranty
service and supply of spare parts in the Arab Republic of Egypt. U.S.
firms interested in submitting offers for this solicitation may request
a copy of the Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 263-97-P-055 by
submitting a written request. Requests for the RFP should be sent to
Stephen Klaus, Contracting Officer, USAID/Egypt, Unit 64902, APO AE
09839-4902. Courier service requests should be sent to Stephen Klaus,

Walk-in requestors must provide a written request for the RFP. Fax
requests will be accepted. Telephone requests will not be considered.
The RFP will be issued on or after fifteen days from the date of
publication of this notice. The deadline for receipt of proposals will
be 45 days after the date of the issuance of the RFP. "The preferred
method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the
Internet or by request of a solicitation on a 3.5" Floppy disk
(Wordperfect 5.1/5.2 format). This CBD notice can be viewed and
downloaded using the Agency Web Site. The RFP, once issued, can be
downloaded from the Agency web site. The Worldwide Web address is
http://ww.info.usaid.gov. Select Business and Procurement Opportunities
from the home page, then USAID Procurements." On the following screen,
select "Download Available USAID Solicitations." The RFP can also be
downloaded via Anonymous File Transfer Protocol (FTP). The FTP address
is FTP.INFO.USAID.GOV. Logon using the user identification of
"anonymous" and the password is your e-mail address. Look under the
following directory for the RFP: pub/OP/RFP/26397P055/26397p055.rfp.
Receipt of this RFP through INTERNET must be confirmed by written
notification to the contact person noted above. It is the
responsibility of the recipient of this solicitation to ensure that it
has been received from INTERNET in its entirety and USAID bears no
responsibility for data errors resulting from transmission or
conversion processes." The U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID) encourages the participation to the maximum extent possible of
small business concerns, small disadvantaged business concerns and
women-owned small business concerns in this activity as prime
contractors or subcontractors in accordance with Part 19 of the Federal
Acquisition Regulation. In this respect, it is anticipated that the
prime contractor will make every reasonable effort to identify and make
maximum practicable use of such concerns. All other evaluation criteria
being found equal, the participation of such concerns may become a
