Service contract for a variety of services to include: inspecting, proper identification, packaging, loading, removal, transportation, unloading, storage (if permissible) and disposal/recycling of hazardous wastes at Souda Bay, Crete and Araxos, Greece. Additional services include: document preparation; waste identification and packaging; waste sampling and chemical anaylsis; purchase of containers/overpacks; and spill cleanup, if requested. Waste must be disposed of in a country which is a signatory to the Basel Convention. SP4420-97-R-0010 will be issued on or about 24 Jun 97. Approximate closing date is 7 Aug 97. This solicitation will result in a requirements type contract being awarded to one contractor. This contract will have an 18-month base period and two 12-month option periods. Performance will be requested by issuance of written delivery orders against the basic contract. Qualifications: prospective contractors or subcontractors must be able to meet Greek environmentallaws and regulations, as well as any applicable European Union regulations governing identification, packaging, labeling, and placarding of dangerous goods for tranportation, and the May 1989 Basel Convention on the control of transboundary movements of hazardous waste and their disposal and its amendments.
