The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests proposes to award a contract for the complete inspection of Virginia Creeper Bridge 38. The inspection work shall include all preparation work for the inspection including an operating plan, the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials to perform the work, an inspection report, and all other incidental work associated with the testing and inspection of timbers and concrete incorporated into bridge substructure as specified. The Virginia Creeper is a rail-trail. The trail, and particularly bridge 38, is now used for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and horseback riding. The trail is also used by light vehicles for maintenance and rescue. The bridge is located on the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area in Marion, Virginia. (0149)
