LYNN STRICKLAND, Contracting Officer at (703) 681-9213 The Joint Traffic Management Office (JTMO) intends to procure commercial breakbulk and containerized ocean and intermodal transportation for cargo to and from U.S. East Coast and Iceland. Carriers must provide regularly schduled service for the firm 2 year period of 1 November 1997 through 31 October 1999, with three (3) one (1) year option periods commencing 1 November 1999 through 31 October 2002, if exercised. The competition shall result in contract awards to both an Icelandic shipping company and a U.S. flag carrier in accordance with the Treaty and Memorandum of Understanding in effect between the Governments of the United States and Iceland. No more than sixty-five percent (65%) of the cargo shall be carried by the lowest offeror, and the remaining thirty-five percent (35%) shall be carried by the next lowest offeror of the other country.
