COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 3,1997 PSA#1858AFMLO/VASS 1423 SULTAN STREET, SUITE 200, FREDERICK, MD 21702-5006 81 -- CUSTOM INFLIGHT MEDICAL KITS SOL FOM-03-97 DUE 063097 POC Monica
J. Pileggi 301 619-4070 This is to modify the original synopsis to
delete labor surplus area set-aside to read 100% Small Business
Set-Aside only. This specification describes the main supply case used
In-flight Medical Kit. The case is used to organize, protect, and
transport medical supplies. The case also incorporates features to
secure it to the aircraft during flight. The In-flight Medical Kit
replaces the unique packaging and organization of supplies by
individual aeromedial evacuation squadrons. Aeromedical doctrine makes
it possible for performing a mission with personnel from different
squadrons. Unit unique handling of supplies does not support this
scenario. The In-flight Medical Kit defines a standard design of hard
and soft-sided cases to be used by all Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty
aeromedical evacuation squadrons. The design interfaces account for
the medical supplies carried, unique military aircraft environments,
and procedural aspects of Air Force Aeromedical operations. As such,
each item will be securelyfastened to the aircraft. Handles, "O" rings,
tie-down points, stitching and seams must be able to withstand forces
generated in an aircraft environment, and by rough ground handling. The
kits may be secured to the floor, litters, suspended from sidewalls, or
secured to other available structures as the situation dictates. Areas
identified as subject to high abrasion are caused by dragging heavily
loaded cases across asphalt runways, concrete, or other rough
surfaces. A site visit has been established for Solicitation FOM-03-97
