(AMSTA-AQ-DS), Warren, MI 48397-5000 A -- DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF TOOLING FOR METAL MATRIX PROGRAM SOL
DAAE07-97-R-X041 POC Ms. Vanita Sims (810) 574-6408 E-MAIL: U.S. Army
Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, simsv@cc.tacom.army.mil. The
U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command is contemplating an
acquisition for design and fabrication of tooling for the metal track
and missile program. Actions will include, but are not limited to,
design and fabrication of low cost silicon carbide whiskers and
reinforced squeeze cast aluminum prototype components. A 50/50 cost
sharing R&D Project Agreement contract is contemplated with a foreign
source. It is estimated that each party to the Project Agreement will
contribute $232,500 towards the effort and that the total contract cost
will be $465,000. The cost basis for evaluating U.S. firms who wish to
compete for this requirement will be their cost for competing the
entire effort. Firms representing the foreign source will be evaluated
at 50% of their cost for competing the effort, due to the 50% cost
contribution of their Government. Interested firms with appropriate
capabilities and experience that wish to compete for this contract
award are invited to submit their qualifications for consideration in
this specified R&D effort. This is not a request for proposals nor does
the Government intend to pay for the information furnished. Proprietary
data will be protected when so designated. Contract award will be in
accordance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement
(DFARS) Part 225.7008. Closing date for submission of responses is 20
days from publication of this notice. See note number 26. (0150) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0011 19970603\A-0011.SOL)
