S -- JANITORIAL SERVICES FOR THE HERBERT C. HOOVER BUILDING SOL 52-SAAA-7-00035 POC George Svokos, Contract Specialist, FAX (202) 482-0546 The U.S. Department of Commerce has a requirement for janitorial services for the Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB) located at 14th & Constitution Avenue, Washington, DC. Base level cleaning services will cover the following areas: office space including private toilets; executive space; building entrances and lobbies; building corridors, elevator lobbies, and areaways; stairwells and landings; restrooms, locker rooms, and showers; water fountains; loading docks and platforms; underground garages; passenger and freight elevators; special purpose space (libraries, photo labs, adp space, etc.); the National Aquarium; the Health Unit; the physical fitness center; the day care center; blind stands; vending areas; grounds including interior courtyards; exterior building entrances; parking courts, driveways and sidewalks; guard booths; storage space; unassigned space; and the White House Visitor's Center. There is also a requirement for support services including raising/lowering flags around the HCHB;checking/removing debris/trash from HCHB loading docks, and special cleaning services required by vacating of certain spaces within the HCHB. A service desk shall be maintained on-site to perform miscellaneous ad-hoc cleaning tasks. Snow/ice removal also shall be performed. The following services may be exercised by options: carpet cleaning; stripping and sealing of hard and tile floors; damp wiping marble wall surfaces and stone wainscoting; cleaning of vertical surfaces above 70" from the floor; window washing (both sides); venetian blinds (both sides); cleaning and polishing of wood/cherry paneling; and the use of mechanized equipment to remove snow/ice. Interior gross area of the HCHB is approximately 1,800,000 square feet. Outside areas to be policed include approximately 212,600 square feet and parking courts approximately 35,000 square feet. The SIC Code for this requirement is 7349. The requirement is for a one-year base period and two one-year options.
