provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation, and supervision
necessary to replace and remove existing custom color carpet and
padding on the Seventh Level of the East Building. The spaces to be
carpeted, approximately 6,969 square feet (1,500 square yards) of
irregular areas, include the Executive Dining Room, Refectory,
Information, Special Events, and External Affairs Offices, Elevator
Lobby, corridors, open offices and stairwell. The Contractor will
supply and install both carpet and padding as specified in the
solicitation, and remove and dispose of existing carpet and padding
off-site. Carpet specifications are as follows: Louis De Poortere,
Solidad, 80/20 Wool/Nylon, Contract Wools, Cut/Twist Pile or equal.
Carpet is to be custom colored as per sample to be supplied by the
National Gallery of Art upon contract award. Padding shall be 56 ounce
rubberized hair/jute. The estimated cost of construction is between $
25,000 and $ 100,000. Bid opening is scheduled for 7/23/97. The SIC
