The ADPA/NSIA International Committee, in conjunction with the Department of Defense, presents the first US-Russia Military Technology Cooperation Seminar. The seminar will be held on 11 June 1997 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia. This seminar will provide a first look opportunity, in a broad public forum scenario, for US industry to receive briefings on the degree and level of US government support to US-Russian defense technology cooperation. Seminar objectives include: 1) To serve as a broadcast to US industry on the degree and level of US government support to US-Russian technology cooperation. 2) To provide a forum in which various officials from the US government and US industry may illuminate concerns and/or air reservations about military technology cooperation with Russia. 3) To describe the political environment in which "military technology cooperation" takes place and to highlight political obstacles to cooperation, such as NATO enlargement, Russian arms sales policies/practices, etc. 4) To establish a process whereby US industry can be brought "up to speed" in a consolidated forum and in a regular fashion. 5) To create a constructive dialogue which will allow government officials to hear what officials of US industry think.
