The proposed contract will include a base year and two one year options. The Vehicle Milling Center is located at Anniston Army Depot, Bynum, AL. This will be purchased as sole source from Ingersoll in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Ingersoll, the original equipment manufacturer, has proprietary data to the computer system, software, hardware designs, and drawings for five of the computers in the Milling Machine Center. The Milling Center was modified by Igersoll specifically for ANAD to provide machining services for the hulls and turrets of combat vehicles for all branches of the military. This requirement is for a follow-on contract for highly specialized services that are available only from Ingersoll. Ingersoll is the only source for the major component parts for the Machining Center. Some of the major items of this equipment were manufactured by Ingersoll solely for ANAD. Firms that recognize and can provide therequired services are encouraged to identify themselves within 15 days from the date of this publication, and provide supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer which would permit their participation in future solicitations.
