D -- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/Marine Chart Division has a requirement for a structured training program for the performance of Super Computed Aided Revisions (SCAR) production methodologies supporting nautical chart production as practiced by the Marine Chart Division (MCD). This training would ensure compatibility and standardization of procedures across the division, enhance the SCAR process where capabilities have yet to be learned, and make more efficient and expeditious production capabilities that have been developed and implemented through on-the-job training. MCD intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with CADDScan Engineering, Inc. the developer/manufacturer of SCAR. CADDScan has developed for MCD a unique training program using software enhancements that improve upon many parts of the SCAR software used in the automated production of nautical charts. Other offerors that have the abilityy to provide this type of training are invited to submit information as to their capabilities and any other pertinent data to the address above, to be received no later than 12 days after the date of this notice.
