V -- VENDOR RECEIPTS AND EXPEDITING PROGRAM (VREP) SOL N00189-97-R-0066 DUE 071797 POC Marlene Chambley, Code 02H3F, (757) 444-4831 Vendor Receipts and Expediting Program (VREP). The contractor will be responsible to expedit handling of fleet support cargo generated by government procurement offices and moving from CONUS vendors to ships and Naval oversea activities. All services include receiving, documentation, freight, and forwarding and delivery to air and water ports of embarkation. This acquisitions is being offered for competition limited to eligible 8(a) concerns. The applicable Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 4225. Eligibility to participate may be restricted to firms in either the development or transitional stage. Interested 8(a) firms are encouraged to request a copy of the solicitation as expeditiously as possible since the solicitation will be issued without further notice upon SBA acceptance of the requirement for the 8(a) program. The commercial solicitation will identify the date and time for the preproposal conference and site visit. The Government intends to negotiate an Indefinite Delivery/Requirements type contract with Firm Fixed priced provisions for a base year and four-one year options. FAR clause 52.217-08, Option to Extend Services, will be incorporated into the solicitation/contract. All responsible offerors may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
