These specifications describe a fully-operational computer hardware (LAN Server) purchase for Novell Network. YEAR 2000 COMPLIANT Year 2000 compliant means information technology that accurately processes date/time data (including, but not limited to, calculating, comparing, and sequencing) from, into, and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000 and leap year calculations. Furthermore, Year 2000 compliant information technology, when used in combination with other information technology, shall accurately process date/time data if the other information technology properly exchanges date/time data with it. All hardware, software, or firmware in any products furnished under this contract shall either be Year 2000 compliant as delivered or, if noncompliant at that time, be upgraded to be Year 2000 compliant, at no additional cost to the government, by December 31, 1999. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotations (RFQ), number 1422D910Q970019. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45. This solicitation is under standard industrial classification code 3577. Fast Etherlink XL Network Card, PCI, 10/100BT-X, 2 Each. The due date for this is 30 days after award of the contract and shall be delivered to the Contracting Officer, BLM, 1387 S. Vinnell Way, Boise, ID 83709. The provision at 52.212.1, Instruction to Offerors-Commercial is applicable. The provision at 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items is applicable, and the following shall be included in paragraph (a) of that provision. Quotes will be evaluated on price, and past performance. Past performance will be based on the Contracting Officer's knowledge, contacting provided references, and other reasonable sources. Price is estimated at less than $100,000. Selection will be made of the offer that is most advantageous to the Government. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision as 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its offer.
