These specifications describe a fully-operational computer hardware (LAN Server) purchase for Novell Network. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS 1) Processor -- 200MHz Intel Pentium Pro processors: Support for up to four-way SMP. 2) Processor Upgrade -- Modular upgrades to dual and quad symmetric multi- processing. 3) External Cache -- 512KB write-back cache per processor. 4) ECC Memory -- Up to 2GB. 5) Expansion Slots -- Minimum of ten I/O expansion slots: Six PCI bus master, Four EISA non-bus-master. 6) Disk Array * PCI Disk Array Controller with Ultra Wide SCSI channels. * Hot-swap and hot-spare capabilities. * Support for RAID 0, 1, 5, or more(logical combination of RAID 0 and 1). 7) SCSI Controller -- Dual PCI Ultra Wide SCSI. 8) Mass Storage Subsystem * One 3.5-inch flexible disk drive. * One SCSI CD-ROM, minimum of Quad Speed. * Three standard half-height. * Six hot-swap upgradeable to 12 hot-swap. 9) Disk Drives * One 1.44MB flexible-drive included. * One quad-speed SCSI CD-ROM drive included. 10) Built-In I/O Ports * PCI Fast and Wide external SCSI-2 port. * One 25-pin parallel port. * Two serial 9-pin RS-232 ports. * One IDE port. * Video port. * Mini-DIN keyboard and mouse port. * Integrated 1024x768, 16-color, noninterlaced. * 512KB standard video memory (upgradable to 1MB, 1280x1024). * Super VGA drivers available with operating system or from electronic support services. 11) Keyboard and Mouse -- Localized keyboard and two-button mouse. 12) Supported Operating Systems -- OS/2 Warp, MS-DOS, Windows NT Server, Novell NetWare, and Novell NetWare SFT III. 13) Supported SMP Operating Systems -- OS/2 SMP, Windows NT Server, and Novell NetWare SMP. 14) Power -- *One 410W power module standard. Modular upgrade to redundant power supply. 15) Serviceability * FLASH BIOS support for quick system BIOS updates. * Removable side and top covers for easy system maintenance. 16) Service and Support -- *Three-year, next-business-day, on-site limited warranty (standard business hours). YEAR 2000 COMPLIANT Year 2000 compliant means information technology that accurately processes date/time data (including, but not limited to, calculating, comparing, and sequencing) from, into, and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000 and leap year calculations. Furthermore, Year 2000 compliant information technology, when used in combination with other information technology, shall accurately process date/time data if the other information technology properly exchanges date/time data with it. All hardware, software, or firmware in any products furnished under this contract shall either be Year 2000 compliant as delivered or, if noncompliant at that time, be upgraded to be Year 2000 compliant, at no additional cost to the government, by December 31, 1999. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotations (RFQ), number 1422D910Q970019. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45. This solicitation is under standard industrial classification code 3577. The Contract line item numbers are: Item #1, Novell Server in accordance with the above specifications, 1 Each; Item #2, 4 GB Ultra SCSI Hot Swapable Disk Module, 6 Each; Item #3, 64MB Memory SIMMs, 4 Each; Item #4, Server Remote Management Card, 1 Each; Item #5 Optional Service, 4-Hour Response for 7 days/24 hours, 1 Each; Item #6, Com. Fast Etherlink XL Network Card, PCI, 10/100BT-X, 2 Each. The due date for this is 30 days after award of the contract and shall be delivered to the Contracting Officer, BLM, 1387 S. Vinnell Way, Boise, ID 83709. The provision at 52.212.1, Instruction to Offerors-Commercial is applicable. The provision at 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items is applicable, and the following shall be included in paragraph (a) of that provision. Quotes will be evaluated on price, and past performance. Past performance will be based on the Contracting Officer's knowledge, contacting provided references, and other reasonable sources. Price is estimated at less than $100,000. Selection will be made of the offer that is most advantageous to the Government. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision as 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its offer. The clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, is applicable. The clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, is applicable, and the following additional FAR clauses cited in the clause are applicable: 52.222-26, 52.222-35, 52.222-36, 52.225-3.
