R -- STACK SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS FOR THE U.S. ARMY CHEMICAL AGENCY MUNITIONS DISPOSAL SYSTEM ACTIVITY (USACAMDS); DESERET CHEMICAL DEPOT; TOOELE, UTAH SOL W31RYO-97IT-CORP POC Contract Specialist Darralyn Williams (205) 895-1157 Contracting Officer Houston Townsend (205) 895-1112 (Site Code DACA87) The U.S. Army Engineering Support Center; Huntsville, Alabama (USAHNC) proposes to issue to International Technology Corporation; (IT), Knoxville, Tennessee a modification for additional Performance Demonstration Test Burns and corresponding documentation, i.e., analytical support. Specific requirements for these additional burns and corresponding documentation include: (a) a minimum of one but no more than two sets of Metal Parts Furnace (MPF) Trash Shakedown runs, (b) the corresponding MPF Trash Shakedown Test Reports, and (c) two Test Burn Reports for the already awarded MPF Trash Trial Burns. IT Corporation is the competitively selected contractor for Performance Demonstration Test Burns of the Metal Parts Furnace at the U.S. Army Chemical Agent Munitions Disposal System (USACAMDS); Deseret Chemical Depot; Tooele, Utah. Additional requirements for testing the Metal Parts Furnace at USACAMDS require the USAHNC award the additional work to IT Corp under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements," as it has been determined by the U.S. Army that once these additional Performance Demonstration Test Burns and reports are completed, there exists no further requirement for these services. It is likely that award of the effort to procure the Performance Demonstration Test Burn Services from any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. A copy of the RFP may be secured by written request to the Contract Specialist listed above.
