Presolicitation Notice: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking bidders for the Bldg. 435 Boiler Replacement project. Mechanical work consists of removing and replacing two (2) each steam boilers, to include their associated equipment (i.e., flue piping, steam piping and valves, burners, fuel pumps, condensate pumps, controls, etc.). Electrical work includes the installation of starters, disconnects, feeders, etc. in support of the boiler system modification. The successful Contractor will also be required to provide temporary steam service to the bldg. during boiler changeover periods. Work efforts will be performed at FEMA's Mt. Weather Emergency Assistance Center (MWEAC), located at 19844 Blue Ridge Mountain Road, Bluemont, VA 20135, Loudoun County. A valid Virginia Contractor's License will be required in order to bid on and perform the work. The magnitude of the requirement in terms of the estimated price range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed-price/construction-type contract and the requirement is being issued as a total small business set-aside. The period of performance will be 120 calendar days (CD) from the Contractor's receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Est. solicitation release date is O/A 6/19/97 w/closing date 30 CD thereafter.
