a sole source basis the following software and software support items
manufactured and provided by Wind River Systems Inc. The Government
requires software and support to be completely consistent and
compatible with the existing Government environment. The items are: (1)
Wind Foundation Classes (5 user license) (1 each); (2) Annual
maintenance and support for Wind Foundation Classes (1 each); (3)
VXWorks Wrapper Classes Source Code (1 each); (4) Source Update Service
for VXWorks Wrapper Classes (1 each); (5) Windnet SNMP (1 each); (6)
Annual maintenance and support for SNMP (1 each); (7) SNMP Source Code
(1 each); (8) SNMP Target Licenses (750 out of 1000) (1 each); (10)
Windview (8 user license (1 each); (11) Annual maintenance and support
for Windview (8 seats) (1 each); (12) Stethoscope (2 user license) (1
each). (13) Annual maintenance and support for Stethoscope (2 seats)
(1 each); (14) SNMP Target licenses (250 out of 1000) (1 each). The
annual software support shall consist of all updates, upgrades and
unlimited telephone support, Monday thru Friday excluding Government
holidays, hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST. Wind River Systems Inc is the
proprietary and only known source to provide the software and support.
The Government has approximately $500K worth of Wind River Systems
Inc. already being utilized. The above items are to upgrade the
existing software and must be completely compatible with the Government
owned Wind River Systems Inc proprietary software. The above items are
in direct support of the Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile (SLBM)
program. The VXWorks Operating System is a commercially developed
product which is designed to execute on the PowerPC Central Processing
Unit (CPU). Strategic Systems Program (SSP) Fire Control and Guidance
Branch (SP23) has incorporated the PowerPC CPU into the SLBM Fire
Control Computer architecture as part of the MK 98 Mod 4 (United
States) and Mod 5 (United Kingdom) TRIDENT Fire Control System. This
upgrade is necessaryto provide the required computational resources for
evolving mission critical functions in support of Strategic Retargeting
System (SRS) initiatives. Complete system capability and compatibility
is absolutely necessary. Award is to be made utilizing Simplified
Acquisition Procedures. All responsible sources shall provide
manufacturer's specifications with their fax quote which shall be
considered by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division,

ARE CALLED OUT IN THIS CBD NOTICE. The items shall be shipped FOB
Destination to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division,
Dahlgren, VA 22448. Closing date is 23 June 1997. Anticipate award by
