INTERMEDIATE NEW GENERATION ARMY TARGETING SYSTEM (INGATS) Availability of Draft Performance Specification. ITEM: Intermediate New Generation Army Targeting System (INGATS). The INGATS consists of the following major subsystems: the target lifting devices (armor and infantry), the Central Control System (RF Transceiver), the hand-held control device (RF Transceiver), the radio frequency (RF) control module (transceiver), the sound effects simulator, the MILES shoot back device, a central controller consisting of a computer and printer, and an interface device for the M31A1 target mechanism. This is a special notice to inform industry of the availability of a draft Performance Specification for the INGATS, for review and comments. Initial comments and questions are requested not later than 23 June 1997. Interested parties may request a copy of the draft document by writing to U.S. Army Armament and Chemical Acquisition and Logistics Activity (ACALA), ATTN: AMSTA-AC-PCH-A (Kay Stromer), Rock Island, IL 61299-7630, or contacting the Contract Specialist, Kay Stromer, (309) 782-4948, fax (309) 782-4728, (Contracting Officer is Brian W. Requests for copies of the draft document should include your Company Name, address, commercial and government entity (CAGE) code (if a CAGE code has been assigned to you) along with Point of Contact, phone number and datafax number. Electronic requests may be accepted through the Automated Acquisition Information System (AAIS) and Procurement Network (ProcNet). The draft Specification is available for viewing/downloading, along with all ACALA solicitations, procurement history, and other related procurement information via the AAIS 24 hours a day. The AAIS can be accessed electronically, utilizing a modem set to dial (309)782-7648. Terminal emulation should be VT100, no parity, 8 data bits and 1 stop bit. Once connected, enter "aais" at the "LOGIN" prompt. At the "PASSWORD" prompt depress the "ENTER" key.
