The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement to renovate approximately 45,000 square feet of the JEH-FBI Building at 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20535. The work will be concentrated on the fifth (5th) floor and the penthouse of the FBI Headquarters facility. (1) The major items of work on the 5th floor will consist generally of the following construction: demolition, construction of sound rated partitions and doorways, installation of raised access flooring, installation of a dedicated chilled water HVAC system, installation of cable tray and conduit, installation of new electrical distribution system in existing underfloor raceway and sprinkler system modifications. (2) Major items of work in the Penthouse will generally consist of: modification of a louvered screen wall, construction of a steel superstructure and dunnage, installation of a weather tight pump enclosure, installation of redundant air cooled chillers on the new dunnage, modification of existing low voltage switchgear and installation of an automatic transfer switch. The successful contractor shall be required to adhere to FBI security requirements as set forth in the contract documents. The estimated cost of this work is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Copies of drawings and specification will be available by mail only. Estimated release data is June 30, 1997. A Pre-Bid conference and site investigation are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 1997, at 10:00 a.m. local time at FBI Headquarters Facility, Washington, D.C. 20535. A 72 hour advance notice is required to attend the conference and site investigation. Because of security requirements interested parties must furnish the Names, Date of Birth, Place of Birth and Social Security Numbers of the individuals who will be attending the site investigation and pre-bid conference. The FBI reserves the right to deny entrance to any individual who's name was not furnished to the FBI prior to the close of business July 11, 1997. Mailed bids must be postmarked at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled date for bid opening. Please reference Invitation For Bid (IFB) 7113 in your written request. All solicitation requests must be in writing. Specifications and detailed requirements will be furnished with the solicitation, BY MAIL REQUEST ONLY, for a deposit of $200, (LIMIT OF TWO (2) SETs PER FIRM). Bid sets will be issued on a first come first serve basis until supply is exhausted. Bidsets will be sent by mail only. Deposit for solicitation is refundable when bid sets are returned complete and in order to the FBI. Requesters MAY NOT RETURN bid sets directly to the FBI Headquarters facility. Bid Sets may only be returned by mail or other overnight delivery service to the address set forth in the solicitation document. Bid, Performance and Payment Bonds ARE REQUIRED for this project.
