45433-5309 66 -- SOURCES ARE SOUGHT FOR FABRICATION OF RESEARCH HARDWARE DUE
062797 POC Sue Strickland, (937) 257-5198 ext. 4309 E-MAIL: Sue
Strickland, ASC/PKWOCB, stricksl@pkwsmtp.wpafb.af.mil. Sources are
sought for fabrication and possible assembly of research test hardware
made out of commonly available material such as plexiglas, wood,
metal, and plastic. Designs will be provided by the Government with
delivery of these items to Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The performance of
this contract will be in support of aero thermal research activities.
Turbine engine aero thermal research models hot section heat transfer
and acrodynamic loss mechanisms that limit efficiency, specific fuel
consumption, durability and the cost of development of new turbine
engine designs. Turbine aero thermal research also provides data sets
of heat transfer and acrodynamic losses for use in the Integrated High
Performance Turbine Engine Technology (IHPTET) initiative, in the
validation of Computational Fluid Daynamics (CFD) codes used in turbine
design, and in the development of new instrumentation and measurement
techniques. Potential offerors must be within 50 miles driving distance
of Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Responses to this synopsis must include
past experience in the manufacture of test hardware for aerothermal
research fabricated out of the materials as stated above. The period of
performance of any resulting contract will be a base year with four
1-year options. Respond NLT 27 Jun 97. Note: First transmission had
incorrect response date, corrected response date is 27 Jun 97. An
