COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 9,1997 PSA#1862Lockheed Martin Space Mission Systems & Services; Marina Plaza; Suite
500; 2450 South Shore Blvd.; P.O. Box 58487; Houston, Texas 77258 D -- EDITOR BUILDER SOFTWARE PRODUCT IN SUPPORT OF KENNEDY SPACE
CENTER DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES SOL M671 DUE 063097 POC F.D. Pell,
Subcontracts, phone (281) 335-5075 or via FAX (281) 335-5070. Lockheed
Martin Space Mission Systems and Services is determining the
availability of a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software
editor/builder product that will allow non-programmers to develop
mathematical and logical equations that create C or C++ source code for
a UNIX (SGI/IRIX) platform. This tool should produce real-time,
executable code. An available, companion, manager tool would also be
used for either activating/inhibiting processing or changing
coefficients of any selected equation(s) created by the editor/builder.
If procured, the programs would be used for Space Shuttle processing at
the Kennedy Space Center. The editor/builder would be used in a
development with UNIX workstations connected to a server. Any source
code produced would be promoted through a software build process,
compiled, and tested prior to delivery to the operational environment.
The executable software and the Manager tool would operate in the
real-time, Shuttle, operational processing and launch control
environments, which are distributed, UNIX-based environments. The
builder/editor software shall meet these minimum requirements: (1)
provide an interface to retrieve input parameter data from a flat file;
(2) support various data types, including enumerated data types; (3)
provide standard editing features such as cut, copy, paste, etc.; (4)
provide arithmetic, trigonometric, relational, logic, bit manipulation,
and statistics (minimum, maximum, etc.) operators; and (5) generate C
or C++ code that can run in a real-time environment. The manager
software shall meet these minimum requirements: (1) provide an
interface to activate (start) and inhibit (stop) processing of any
selected equations (developed using the builder/editor tool); (2)
provide an interface to change coefficients in an equation; (3) execute
equations when any input value changes; (4) provide an interface
allowing incorporation of equation results into a KSC-defined data
message format; (5) provide user control of equation execution on a
cyclic basis; and (6) provide the ability to determine data validity
testing. Beta test versions and software that has not been widely
distributed should not be included. Offerors should respond with COTS
standard product information, including basic technical
descriptions/specifications, with sufficient detail to indicate the
software satisfies each of the above requirements, and standard
pricing. Pricing should include information on break points for
multiple licenses and site licenses. (0156) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0033 19970609\D-0008.SOL)
