34 -- WELDING SUPPLIES AND ACCESSORIES POC Valerie Hunter, (804)279-5640, fax (804)279-5017, e-mail vhunter@dscr.dla.mil The Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) is seeking sources to partnership with industry to provide logistics support to DoD, in the area of Welding Supplies and Accessories (FSC 3439, 3433, 3431). The private sector provider will act as an extension of DSCR and will establish an intelligent relationship between the end user, DSCR and other supply sources; and use of innovative, state-of-the-art methodologies to reorganize, synchronize, supplement and otherwise improve the existing DoD supply chain process and systems to include EC/EDI. An industry conference shall be held on July 23, 1997 at 9:00 A.M./ local time at DSCR, 8000 Jeff Davis Highway, Bldg. 33, Center Theater, Richmond VA 23297, to discuss proposed initiatives, ideals, technical merit and realism of cost, related to this new initiative. All interested parties are encouraged to have representation at the conference.
