540-653-4904T E-MAIL: Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division,
bwynne@nswc.navy.mil. The Government intends to purchase a high
performance real-time multi-threaded UNIX based computer integrated
operating system which supports symmetrical multiprocessing real-time
functions and adheres to the UNIX System V Interface Definition, POSIX
1003.1-1990, POSIX 1003.1b-1993, POSIX 1003.1C, and X/Open's XPG4 Base
1993 standards. The specifications are as follows: A high performance
symmetrical multiprocessing real-time computer integrated system in
standard VME double height (6U) format, with up to eight 150MHZ PowerPC
604e RISC CPU modules and daughtercard each containing: 32MB local
memory, 64KB primary cache, IEEE 754 floating point, 4GB logical and
physical address space, 1MB secondary inline cache, 1.6GB/second memory
bandwidth, industry standard VME64 I/O subsystem, industry standard PMC
interface, less than 8ms response time of external interrupts to user
level applications, SCSI-2 fast/wide interface, and ethernet (IEEE
802.30 TCP/IP interface. The system will be housed in a 12 slot BME
chassis with power supply which holds up to five (5) half-height SCSI
peripheral drives and at a minimum integrated with the following: Two
of the 150MHZ PowerPC RISC CPU modules as described above; One 15 amp
US power cord, One dual ported memory controller with PMC port; One
64MB DRAM memory module for a dual ported controller; One front plane
connector for synchronous bus interface between processors and global
memory; One 4.0GB fixed disk 3.5 inch, formatted, single ended fast
SCSI-2 interface; One 4mm DAT tape driver; One X-terminal console 30
foot cable; One Desktop thinnet transceiver kit which includes a 6 foot
cable, a thinnet transceiver, and a two terminator BNC Tee; One
hardware manual kit; One 21 inch color X-terminal with 8MB memory 60HZ
includes monitor, mouse, keyboard, 4MB flash memory, ethernet
connection, and power cord. Resolution 1280x1024 at 73HZ 0.28mm dot
pitch, 256 colors; One ANSI C compiler 2 user license; One C++ compiler
2 user license; One TCP/IP Frame level software implementation of the
Internet Protocol Suite (IP); One X Window System Client software with
OSF/Motif, X Window system version 11; One X-Terminal Boot software;
One software tool set to provide a Trace, View, Simulation, Probe, and
Tune capabilities. Includes a base system license and one user
license. Trace provides a graphic toolset for analyzing the dynamic
behavior of multiprocess and multiprocessor applications. View provides
a general purpose source-level program debugger with features that make
it useful for debugging real-time programs. Simulation provides a
frequency based scheduler and performance monitor control package with
X-Window and Motif graphical user interface. Probe provides a data
monitoring and real-time recording software package through the
X-Window and Motif graphical user interface. Tune provides an
interactive graphical tuning and monitoring environment for
multiprocessor computers. One additional user license for each: Trace,
View, Simulation, Probe and Tune capabilities. One network file system
to provide transparent file access among NES-compliants; one
documentation kit for the C compiler; One documentation kit for the C++
compiler; One documentation kit for the Trace tool; One documentation
kit for the View tool; One documentation kit for the Probe tool; One
documentation kit for the simulation tool; One documentation kit for
the Tune tool; One documentation kit for the TCP/IP software; One
documentation kit for the X-Windows Client software (1 each). Award is
to be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All
responsible sources shall provide manufacturer's specification sheets
to show that their quote meets all of the above specifications for a
complete system with their fax quote which shall be considered by the
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VA 22448.
Fax number is 540-653-2958 Attn: Barbara Walters, Code SD18. THE
