Slana (Site Code W31XNJ) This contract is for energy conservation modifications to an existing coalfired boiler plant (1940's vintage). It includes modifications of four existing steam turbines that drive forced and induced draft fans, addition of a heat exchanger to boost boiler feedwater temperatures, addition of 3 sets of heat exchanger which will recover heat from flue gas and preheat combustion air, and the addition of manual dampers to the roof-mounted combustion air intakes for the plant. The Plans and Specifications will be issued on Compact Disc (CD-ROM) only and will be provided free of charge. CD-ROMs will be available on or about 23 June 1997. Estimated cost of work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Bidders, subcontractors and Dodge/Plan Rooms are encouraged to register on the Internet to receive one CD-ROM.
