The levee will be 5840.11 feet in length and begins approximately 3900 feet north of Chestnut Avenue and runs adjacent to the Arkansas River down to 738 feet north of Madison Avenue. Approximately 71,100 yd of compacted impervious fill material will be used to backfill the inspection trench and plate the riverside slope of the levee. Approximately 241,200 yd of compacted random fill material will be used to construct the main body of the levee. Work will include clearing and grubbing, common excavation, construction of earthen levee, mitigation pond, concrete pipe culvert with flapgate, ramp at Chestnut Avenue, asphalt concrete pavement, guardrails, toe drain, and relief wells. Estimated cost range of this project is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. An advanced non-refundable fee of $10.00 (reduced size) or $25.00 (full size) is required for each set of specifications.
