The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking bidders for the following project which consists of a Basic Contract and Option One Work for barrier removal and window installation. For the Basic Contract Work the contractor shall provide the necessary personnel, facilities, equipment and materials required to modify Building 712 for barrier removal and related modifications. The barrier removal shall consist of construction that will provide an exterior building access ramp, a unisex rest room on the first and second floor, a wheelchair lift, minor architectural modifications to the building's entrance lobby, interior/exterior demolition work, HVAC/electrical power/lighting system demolition and rerouting work, hazardous material abatement, fire protection modifications to support new construction, movement of furniture/equipment. For Option One Work the contractor shall install several windows in selected locations in the front of the building. Interior/exterior finishes will be restored. Work efforts will be performed at FEMA's Mt. Weather Emergency Assistance Center (MWEAC). A valid Virginia Contractor's License will be required in order to bid on and perform the work. A prebid conference and site visit will be scheduled, specific date and time to be identified in the solicitation. The total period of performance will be 300 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. The magnitude of the requirement in terms of the estimated price range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. This procurement is being issued as a small business set-aside. A firm-fixed-price construction contract is anticipated to be awarded. The solicitation, to include specifications and drawings, will be made available upon WRITTEN request submitted to: FEMA, Mt.
