The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is seeking sources to supply Calcium Carbonate used for printing U.S. currency in accordance with BEP Specification No. E:CC-1C dated February 14, 1994. The material shall be used as an ingredient in the manufacture of currency printing inks, and must be a product of chemical reaction not mined. A draft solicitation will be issued to all interested sources for comments as well as for information purposes. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this specification, or otherwise pay for information solicited. All interested sources should request a copy of the draft specification and information within fifteen (15) days after publication of this notice. Comments on the draft specification and information requested should be submitted to the BEP no later than June 20, 1997 to Ronnetta R. Fuller, Procurement Technician at the above address.
