jtambini@pica.army.mil. This is a market survey notice to determine if
there are any qualified sources to provide engineering services for
the development of a Contaminated Waste Processor to dispose of
propellant and/or explosive contaminated wastes generated from the
propellant production lines, demolition or construction efforts at the
Radford Army Ammunition Plant, Radford, Virginia. Some examples of
contaminated wastes from the production lines are wood, gloves, rags,
respirators, filters, cardboard boxes, brooms, fiber drums, reject
propellant tubs and similar items. Some examples of large contaminated
wastes resulting from facility modernization efforts are metal pipes,
tanks, and wood from barricades that protect propellant production
buildings. The Contaminated Waste Processor should include the feeding
system, process and instrumentation controls, an air pollution system
and is required to meet existing local, State of Virginia, and Federal
environmental and Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations.
