miles of grading, drainage, base, paving, walls, & concrete box
culverts. Project includes: clearing & grubbing; construction survey &
staking; scheduling; contractor sampling & testing; blasting
consultant; 19,000 ton hot asphalt concrete pavement; 1,500 sqyd
asphalt pavement milling; 30 ton asphalt tack coat; 6 ea concrete
headwalls for box culverts; 650 lnft concrete curb; 150 cuyd structural
concrete; 25,000 ton untreated aggregate; 12,500 ton emulsified asphalt
treated base; 4,000 lnft culverts & drains; 2,000 lnft underdrains; 120
lnft concrete box culverts; 3,000 lnft silt fence; 200 ea check dams;
5,000 lnft straw wattle; 70,000 cuyd excavation & embankment; 500 m-gal
watering; 1,000 sqyd roadway obliteration; 4,000 lnft wire fence; 4,000
sqft wire faced wall; 4,000 sqft earthwork geotextile; 1,000 lnft
guardrail; 40,000 sqyd topsoil; 6,500 ea plants/tress/shrubs; 11,000 lb
reinforcing steel; 400 cuyd riprap; 3,200 lnft rock blasting; 2,500 hr
flagger/pilot car; 130,000 lnft permanent pavement markings; 70 slry
unit turf establishment; 14,000 sqyd matting; and other smaller items
of work. This project is located approximately 8 miles north of Shady
Cove, Oregon. Work shall be completed by July 1999. Estimated price
range is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Presolicitation Notices are
being provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with
the publication of this synopsis. -- -- The following applies only to
Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
