This work involves the construction of a new 15,600 GSF dormitory. The site work under this contract includes underground utilities, grading, roads, sidewalks, etc. Alternate No. 1 consists of the addition of landscaping, concrete benches, and jogging track at the new dormitory site at the Gulfport Job Corps Center in Gulfport, Mississippi. Construction time from NTP to substantial completion for the new dormitory (Base Bid) and Alternate No. 1 is 52 weeks. The estimated cost range of construction is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on or about June 23, 1997, ONLY from the office of Knodel Associate Architects, 257 State Street, Mobile, Alabama 36603. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of request. All requests must be in writing and a $100 bid deposit is required which is refundable when plans and specifications are returned in good condition. The bid deposit must be in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or money order and made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to Knodel Associate Architects at the time of request. All request will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhaused. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting Officer) plus a shipping charge based on individual requests (if applicable) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. A Pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for July 17, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Bid opening date is August 7, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. local time. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside Acquisition.
