476-2106 17. (Description/specifications) (Check for the following:
NSN, Mfg. Part No., MIL-SPEC, FED-SPEC, QPL, size, dimensions, form,
fit, function, predominant material, quantity, option quantity/period
of performance). Sources are being sought to provide electronic heat
sealers to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Application is heat sealing
fabrics. Requirements include: two hand, two station safety system with
non tie down feature; 15,000 (15KW) output power; upper platen of
approx. 20" by 30", with a 6" cylinder with 8" stroke. Radiofrequency
(RF) E-field and H-field radiation levels shall be less than 1mW/cm2
during any six-minute period no more than eight feet from the sealing
surface. All exposed, non-current carrying metal parts must be
maintained at common, zero ground potential. The equipment must be
designed and constructed so as to not emit materials hazardous to the
ecological system. Mercury, Asbestos and Polychlorinated Biphenyls are
not allowed. Written certification of RF, PCBs and OSHA compliance is
