Dunn, Contract Specialist, (202) 324-9220 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commerical items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #70267, the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 90-46. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a Small Business-Small Purchase Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3861, and the Business Size standard is 500 employees. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Quickset International, Inc., 3650 Woodhead Dr., Northbrook, IL 60062 for the following items: Two (2) Tripod, Model #4-53021-SY; Two (2)Tripod, Model #4-63120-SY, Six (6) Geared Head, Model #4-52217-FB; Two (2) Cam Head, Model #4-52304-LA; Two (2) Geared Head, Model #4-62225-SY; Four (4) Pan & Tilt, Model #7-07606-OD; One (1) Control for Pan & Tilt, Model #7-015VSOO-DC012; Two (2) Pan & Tilt, Model #7-59121-DOD; One (1) Controller, Model #7-90VS12-D12FB; and One (1) Controller, Model #7-90AEVS-DC1212. The Tripods and Pan & Tilt Heads are used in unique ways to support the Field Offices, and they interface directly with existing system components. If other Pan & Tilt Heads and Tripods were purchased from other manufactures, the interface equipment would have to be redesigned -- Warranty Period-one year -- FOB-Destination -- This solicitation includes by reference the clause at: FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (Aug 1996). Each offeror shall include a completed copy of the FAR provisions at 52.212-3, Offeror Representation and Certifications (June 96) with its offer. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit bids. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive bids. However, all bids received within thirty (30) days after publication of this synopsis will be considered late by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which, if timely received, shall be considered by the Government. The Government will award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to this solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price, and other factors considered. Technical acceptability will be determined solely on the content and merit of the information submitted by the offeror in response to this notice.
