Description of content: An application to extend the use of the antioxidant erythorbic acid and its sodium salt, to minimally processed fruits and vegetables and in processed fruit and vegetable products. 7. Objective and rationale: To provide for greater marketability and consumer appeal for these products. 8. Relevant documents: Australian Food Standards Code. 9. Proposed date of adoption: Recommendation to Government anticipated by July 1997; Proposed date of entry into force: Immediately after Government approval. 10. Final date for comments: The domestic closing date for comments is 25 June 1997, however comments from Members will be accepted until 10 July 1997 if notice of intention to comment is received by the domestic closing date. 11.
