ESTABLISHING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BACK-UP VEHICLES USED BY MOBILE UNITS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.238. 1. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): The Regulation relates to the requirements to be met by back-up vehicles used by mobile police units. 5. Establishing the Requirements for Back-up Vehicles Used by Mobile Units (Appendix 1), (4 pages in Dutch and English). 6. Description of content: The Regulation refers to the programme of requirements to be met by group and commando vehicles used by mobile police units when providing back-up. The programme of requirements concerns, INTER ALIA: Passenger safety: standards are prescribed for resistance to penetration and breakage. Passenger comfort is subject to requirements. The following standards apply: 1. NEN 5518: Ergonomic criteria for the lorry cab (1994); 2. NEN 3087: Visual ergonomics in relation to lighting. Principles and applications (1991); 3. NEN 6064: Determination of non-flammability of building materials (1991); 4. DINED Table 1986: Estimates and measurements of Dutch adults (between 20-60) (1986); 5. NEN-ISO 5128: Acoustics -- measuring noise levels inside vehicles (1990); 6. STANAG 4357, AVPT 03-160 W: Description of the test. 7. Objective and rationale: Not listed. 8.
