This project has been designed using the metric system. The solicitation consists of 7.816 kilometers of grading, drainage, base paving and a 20 meter precast reinforced concrete bridge. Project includes: construction survey/staking; scheduling; contractor sampling/testing; 12,000 metric ton hot asphalt concrete pavement; 800 metric ton asphalt surface treatment (chip seal); 20 hectares clearing/grubbing; 45 cubic meter structural concrete; 9 precast prestressed concrete structural slabs (20 meters long); concrete filled steel pipe piles (90 meters long); 27,000 metric ton untreated aggregate course; 19,000 metric ton emulsified asphalt treated aggregate base; 700 meter pipe culverts; 40 meter precast reinforced box culvert; 6,500 meter silt fence; 150,000 cubic meter excavation/embankment; 3,000 cubic meter watering; 6,200 square meter roadway obliteration; 6,000 meter fence; 650 square meter gabions; 3,200 square meter earthwork geotextiles; 250 meter guardrail; 54,000 square meter topsoil; 1,500 cubic meter riprap; 4,500 hr traffic control; 126,000 meter pavement markings; 100 slry unit turf establishment; and other smaller items of work. This project is located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Dillon, Montana. Work shall be completed by September 1, 1999. Estimated price range is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the publication of this synopsis. -- -- The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
