EPA has the need for a contractor to provided a field portable gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS) system that gives laboratory quality analytical performance in the field. The system must offer capabilities for analyzing solid, liquid, and gaseous or atmospheric samples. The system must have internal and transport shock systems to prevent damage and also be able to be set up in the field in 30 minutes or less. The system also must be able to be operated off of a portable generator. EPA methods 8260 and 8270 must be able to be performed. Products technical brochures must be submitted. Size must be within 20x24x14 inches and less than 100 lbs. The solicitation will be processed as a commercial item using FAR part 12 procedures. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on 6/26/97, with proposals due 6/30/97. All requests for solicitation 97-R-06 must be in writing with a telephone and fax number identified.
