Officer, (904)234-4863. The Coastal Systems Station, NSWC, DD, intends
to procure eight Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices (SQUID)
assemblies for the Flux Transformer Assemblies (FTA) of the
Superconducting Gradiometer Magnetometer Sensor (SGMS). These SQUID
assemblies are to be exact functional, electrical, and mechanical
replacements for the existing SQUID assemblies. Specifications for the
SQUID will be provided with the request for proposal. The government
will provide a sample SQUID assembly, a SQUID electronics unit with
cable, a SQUID electronics test unit, SQUID test software (PC based),
drawings of the existing FTA and SQUID electronics, and 3 mil NbTi wire
for reference and for use in fabrication and testing of the SQUID
assemblies. Contractor will be required to identify any and all
required modifications to the existing SQUID electronics unit required
for proper operation of the new SQUID assemblies. The government
furnished SQUID electronics unit will be modified, and ten additional
modification parts kits will be provided to the government to allow
modification of the remaining units. SQUID assemblies will be tested by
the contractor to demonstrate that performance requirements are met.
Results will be documented in a final report, along with all required
modifications to the existing SQUID electronics unit. All work is to be
completed within 120 days of award. Delivery of the SQUID assemblies
shall be to the Coastal Systems Station, NSWC, DD, 6703 W. Hwy 98,
