U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office is seeking
companies with expertise in geothermal analytical studies to perform
analytical studies of technology and market conditions for geothermal
power development and geothermal heat pumps. In addition to
conventional hydrothermal power development, advanced geothermal
research options will be analyzed. The studies will require making cost
and performance data projections out to the year 2030, and analyzing
domestic and international technology trends. U.S. revenues generated
from geothermal leases will also be studied. A one-year contract with
two one-year options is being considered with approximately $100,000
per year available to support award for geothermal analytical studies.
Proposers must be able to demonstrate capabilities and experience in
the following areas in order to be considered for contract award:
economic analysis, including computer modeling of geothermal cost and
performance data; geothermal market assessment; and geothermal
technology, including knowledge of the Department of Energy's
geothermal R&D program, geothermal power plant and geothermal heat pump
economics, industry trends, financial needs, and Federal/State
geothermal policies. Prospective proposers must send a written request
