EPA's National Risk Management Research Laboratory (NRMRL), Technology Transfer and Support Division (TTSD) has a need for services in updating the publication "Handbook, Optimizing Water Treatment Plant Performance Using the Composite Correction Program", (CCP) EPA/625/6-91-027 dated February 1991. The focus of this project will be to update the original CCP Handbook to reflect advances in use of CCP procedures to meet optimized turbidity performance levels and institutionalization activities in the context of area-wide optimization programs. This update will also introduce the concepts of total system optimization as they relate to compliance with current and future surface water treatment regulations. Most of the technical information required, however, will focus on control of filtration plant turbidity. It is intended that this document will serve as the foundation for a series of more narrowly focused documents on key total system optimization issues developed as the technical foundation is developed form research and field activities. The period of performance will be for nine months. EPA intends to issue a request for a written quotation (RFQ). The anticipated award date for this simplified acquisition is on or before 7/31/97.
