C -- REPAIR TAXIWAY, AIRCRAFT APRON AND HANGAR FLOOR SOL DAHA04-97-R-0009 DUE 071597 POC Major Charles Clemmons, (805) 594-6286 Architect-Engineer Design Services (Type A, B and at the option of the Government, Type C Services/Title I, and II) for the design project entitled Repair Taxiway, Aircraft Apron and Hangar Floor at the Air National Guard Base, Channel Islands (Port Hueneme), California. The project consists of repairing approximately 7,725 square yards of existing taxiway by removing failed three inch asphalt concrete and base material; design new pavement and base using recommendations from investigative report; provide contract drainage and specifications. Repair approximately 40,000 square yards of aircraft parking; apron and all apron shoulders. The architect-engineer shall peform a survey and geotechnical investigation and provide contract drawings and specifications. Repair hangar floor utilizing recommendations from the Air National Guard Civil Engineering investigation. The estimated construction cost is $478,000. Evaluation and selection of the firm will be based upon the following selection criteria in descending order of precedence: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of the required services, 2) Specialiszed experience and technical competence in the type of work required, 3) Staff capabilities to accomplish work in required time; 4) Past performance on contracts with the Government and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work and compliance with performance schedules, 5) Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project; provided, that application of this criterion leaves an appropriate number of qualified firms, given the nature and size of the project, 6) Demonstrated success in prescribing the use of recovered materials and achieving waste reduction and energy efficiency in facility designs and 7) Total dollar amount of DOD/ANG fees awarded in the past 12 months. DOD and ANG fees must be listed separately. Type of contract is firm fixed price. This is an unrestricted procurement. The estimated start datefor Type A services is October 1997.
