Pending Delegation of Procurement Authority, the DHHS/PSC/DAM/ADP Acquisitions Branch, Rockville, Maryland, intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for an organization located within a sixty (60) mile radius of 200 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC, that will provide all necessary support to operate, maintain, update and evaluate the National Women's Health Information Center (NWHIC) clearinghouse for the Public Health Service's Office on Women's Health (PHS OWH). NWHIC is a women's health information resource and publication referral service for materials produced and disseminated by the Government with links to private sector resources. The Contractor shall: (1) collect, catalogue, prepare, promote and disseminate information on women's health issues to the general public, policymakers, health care organizations, health care professionals, educators, researchers and the media; (2) analyze women's health information to identify gaps and duplicate efforts; (3) promote coordination and resource referral of women's health information with other public and private efforts, including direct on-line access for consumers; (4) support coordination and dissemination of information available from the PHS OWH information and education activities; (5) work with women's health-related intermediaries to accomplish objectives; and, (6) support of innovative technologies for improvement of women's health information via a toll-free telephone service and the Internet. The Contractor shall have the computer resources to perform administrative duties, warehouse operation, print and electronic publication and comunication. The anticipated period of performance shall be one (1) twelve-month base period and three (3) twelve-month Option periods. The RFP will be available approximately fifteen (15) days after issuance.
