D -- ONE-YEAR CONTINUATION OF CURRENT CONTRACT FOR PROPHET II SYSTEM SUPPORT AND ENHANCEMENT POC Kathleen J. Van Steelant, Contracting Officer, (301) 435-0364 The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) intends to negotiate with BBN Systems and Technologies, a Division of Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc., for a one-year continuation of Contract Number 263-94-C-0603 for PROPHET II system support and enhancement. The project includes: 1) Support and maintenance of the PROPHET II system software; 2) Assistance to the PROPHET II user community; 3) Enhancement of the PROPHET II system data management and statistics capabilities; 4) Software core deve lopment; 5) Enhancement of new programming interfaces and implementation of new applications (through development or porting existing software); and 6) Identification of special projects to expand the PROPHET user community. Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Inherent duplication of cost to the Government and unacceptable delays in completing the project make competition unfeasible for this final year of the project. See Numbered Note 22. (0162)
