prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as
supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
Request for proposals are being requested and a written solicitaition
will be issued. The solicitation, number NHLBI-RR-P-97-114 is issued as
Request For Proposal (RFP). The solicitation/contract will include all
applicable provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 90-46. Item to
be acquired: Quantity One (1) CAGE AND RACK WASHER INCLUDING; -- The
NIH seeks a Contractor to furnish and install a Cage and Rack Washer.
The wash compartment shall be approximately 48" W x 87" H x 142"
Inside. The Cage and Rack Washer shall be shipped to the job site in
sections, re-erected and installed over existing pit by the Contractor.
The Contractor shall provide pit renovations and refinishing with
antimicrobial double broadcast epoxy resin flooring. The Contractor
shall interconnect all wiring, pumps and piping. The final connections
shall alsoinclude connecting unit's ventilating ducts and hoods to
existing building ventilation system. The Contractor will be
responsible for construction of the pit area and final connections to
utility. The Contractor shall furnish with their proposal, rough-in
drawings of the cage and rack washer illustrating overall dimensions,
utility requirements including locatio ns and location of washer at
installation site. The Contractor shall submit for review and final
approval two (2) complete sets of shop drawings prior to beginning
assembly of the equipment. The award of a firm fixed-price type
contract is anticipated. The contract period shall be approximately
five (5) months. 1). Removal Of Existing Government-Owned Equipment 2).
Installation Of Cage And Rack Washer 3). Training 4). Manuals Provide
existing product literature, owner's manual with maintenance procedures
as part of the proposal. The CAGE AND RACK WASHER must have a minimum
service life of ten (10) years, must be provided in support of the item
offered. The applicable SIC Code is 3569. Delivery shall be no later
than 150 days (desired) or 180 (required) after contract award. Deliver
Free On Board (FOB) Point: DESTINATION The solicitation will be made
available fifteen (15) days from the Commerce Business Daily (CBD)
Publication Date. FAX requests for the solicitation will only be
accepted if dated & signed by an authorized company representative. All

Interested Bidders are invited to inspect the proposed site of
installation for the Cage And Rack Washers located in Building #14D, at
the NIH, Bethesda, Maryland 20892. During the Inspection, questions,
concerning the local conditions and problems that may arise will be
discussed. However, nothing done or said during the inspection shall be
considered as altering, modifying or qualifying any contract resulting
from this Solicitation unless such change is made in writing by the
Contracting Officer. The proposed installation site surrounding area
will be available for inspection on WEDNESDAY JULY 16, 1997 1:00
O'CLOCK P.M. at Building #14-G Conference Room, at the NIH, Bethesda,
Maryland 20892. Interested Bidders shall contact Livie V. Spearman,
III., at (301) 435 -- 0366 no later than 24 (twenty-four) hours before
the time specified above for appointment. Interested bidders with
appointments shall report to Building #14-G Conference Room, at the
NIH, Bethesda, Maryland 20892 not later than the time specified above.
In no event will failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for
withdrawal of a proposal after opening or claim after award of
