Contractor will 1) conduct search for info on Bering Sea ecosystem through conventional/electronic sources, as well as questionnaires, 2) enter info into Federal Geographic Data Committee database, 3) coordinate logistics related to printing, circulating, and collecting responses to info search, 4) act as liaison between AFSC and interested parties, and 5) mointor progress of project. Individual completing this work must have background (degree, equiv. work experience, or other academic training) in business, environmental science and/or biology, and data collection/analysis methods; 8 yrs exp in use of PCs, custom PC database applications, and PC-based interactive data input and editing programs; 8 yrs exp using digital telecommunications technology such as modems, Internet, TELNET, FTP, WWW browers; 8 yrs exp using commercial software packages such as word processors, spreadhsheet apps (esp MS Office); 8 yrs exp using computerized systems to track, document and follow-up on responses; knowledge of biology, environmental science and standard business practices; and ability to work independently; strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Estimated period of contract is 7/97 through 7/98. It is anticipated that all work will be completed in Seattle, WA. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
