ALPAY, (805) 982-0411 DESIGN AGENT ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE GUIDED MISSILE LAUNCHING SYSTEMS (GMLS) AND PERIPHERAL EQUIPMENT. The Port Hueneme Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, plans to issue a request for proposal to United Defense LP, Armament Systems Division, for a sole source, cost-plus-fixed-fee, level of effort, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. This acquisition is sole source to United Defense LP, by virtue of its experience as the system's designer, developer, original equipment manufacturer, and its possession of specialized data, tools and equipment and is the only viable source capable of providing the Design Agent Engineering Services required by the Navy to support the GMLS. This acquisition will provide design engineering services and materials for the GMLS MK 10, MK 13, MK 22 and MK 26 for the following: engineering investigations and design studies to resolve fleet problems and improve reliability; development of equipment and program changes to resolve fleet problems and improve reliability; prototype, test and proof-in equipment changes; preparation of logistics to support equipment changes; and develop component system overhaul/repair procedures and training including removal, repair, replacement, alignment and test procedures. The estimated number of labor hours are as follows: Base Year -- 31,200, Option One -- 31,200, Option Two -- 31,200. The total estimated labor hours for this requirement are 93,600.
